Glowing Play Dough

Normally I do the Weekly Kid's Co-op links on Friday, but we've been dealing with a sick child for the last couple of days and wasn't really spending any time on the computer. He seems to be feeling better now, so I thought I would get this up now :)

Before we get to the Kid's Co-op, I thought I would share one more type of play dough with you.

I want to apologize for the quality of these pictures. My camera has decided that it doesn't want to take good pictures without the flash lately :(

I found a recipe on Watch Me Play and Learn for glowing play dough and couldn't wait to try it out :)

I actually made the recipe up two different ways. For the first batch, I followed their recipe using neon paint to colour the play dough. We had pink, red, yellow and blue paint

I also made up a second batch of their glowing play dough by substituting 1 cup of glow water for 1 cup of plain water. This batch was really neat as under normal light, it looks just like plain, uncoloured play dough, but it glows almost green under the black light :)

I set out some neon pipe cleaners, googly eyes and straws for Sammie to play with.

Sammie had a blast with this play dough :)

Sammie made up a cake and put some straws in for candles. I showed her how the red play dough almost looked like the flames of a candle, so she put little pieces of the red on top of the straws :)

This was a very fun way to play with play dough :) I'm sure we will be playing with it lots more
