Mentos and diet soda explosion

I don't really have a post for today, as Sammie wasn't really in the crafty mood today.

So I'm going to share a video I took of the girls setting off a Mentos and pop explosion.

At Walmart, they have an end display of little science experiments. They have one of water beads, insta-snow, a couple of other ones and this one for a Mentos and diet soda explosion.   Maddie asked to get it so we could try it

The kit for it contains a pack of mentos, and the tube for putting the mentos into the pop. It is a tube that screws onto the bottle to put the mentos into and  a pin it that you pull to set off the explosion.

Here's ours all set up and ready to explode :)

This is so cool to watch, although it happens very quickly. :)

Is that neat or what?

Over at Growing a Jeweled Rose they did a glowing explosion :)

If you have done this experiment or one like it, please share it either here or on our Facebook page.

  1. We are so glad you found our Geyser Tube at Walmart. That is a fun activity to do outside in the warm weather. If you love science, I do encourage you to try the Insta-Snow and water beads. Your little one will love them. Sharing your video on our Pinterest page now.

    1. We had so much fun with this. I picked up the other kits, but haven't tried them yet. We can't wait to try them out.
Thank you for visiting and for pinning my post :)

  2. What a fantastic kit! We tried this but had to use a cardboard tube.
